Graphite and Editable Poly Menus

Making a menu with all the tools from Graphite (Modeling Ribbon) and Editable Poly would gather all the modeling tools under the same roof,
making it more consistent and fixing the current problem of all the modeling tools scattered around the UI.

It would be more intuitive and accessible for new users.

With the new floating menu technology it would eliminate the tool hunting in the Command Panel,
and we could hide the Modeling Ribbon (more viewport space).

Agreed!!

What sense does it make to have some tools in the Modify Panel only, and others in the Ribbon only? I rolled my eyes back then when I first saw this... one of these 3ds Max - tpyical cases of inconsistent UI design.

In fact just one tool panel (instead of ribbon plus modify panel) would be enough, right? How about a panel with a (somewhat) dynamic button layout that can be docked top/bottom, side, or even float if someone prefers.

Not sure if a menu alone would do... do you mean a menu in the main menu bar? Or a quad menu?

How exactly this could look like is the job of a (good) UI designer. The problem back in the days with user interfaces was often that is was left to the tech-heads/programmers (not saying one couldn't be both, of course).

Surely you already have specialists for this job... ; ]

Now that there's Qt, so much is possible!

yes or at least update the look of the icons in the ribbon to make them consistent  with the new icons.

or better say moving back 3Ds max to its viewport.
