Game Centric UI

Game Centric UI

I make video games for a living, and I love 3ds Max for creating all my assets. I've tried other pieces of software but nothing quite beats Max for what I and many others I know need it for. Because of this, I do think there are many elements of the UI that are either distracting and unnecessary. I don't know how often this gets suggested but a UI scheme for modelling/game development would be amazing. The idea is simply to modify and to flatten UI colours so the workspace is as minimal as possible so that the active viewport is the main focus.

This isn't extensive, but it includes some of the more important tools at the top and the rest are hotkey dependant as most of us tend to utilize hotkeys as it's so much faster than moving away from the viewport to click something.
The reason i changed the colours to be flat is that I don't think gradient are necessary and flat colours just make things look a bit more crisp and artist friendly.

I have however managed to change enough of the UI to match the concept. Here it is.

I actually tear off the scene hierarchy to another monitor to further extend the viewport for maximum workspace. It's close but there are still elements I wish I could change. The bottom toolbar with the timeline controls. I think these should be disabled when the timeline is disabled also.

Any thoughts?

This sounds like a good idea, but I don't know how the team should approach to it.
