Enable Slice Plane snapping when polygons are selected within Edit Poly Modifier
Currently, if you have polygons selected on a mesh while using the Edit Poly Modifier, you are unable to snap the Edit Poly's Slice Plane to anything. It would be helpful if you could.
Unless they've changed it in 2018 it doesn't work for me. -create a polygon primitive -select all the polygons on the primitive. -enable the slice plane, within edit poly, and I'm unable to snap to anything. The slice plane won't snap to selected polygon edges or verts. It will only snap to unselected verts and edges.
I agree with t_seelig - I have Max 2016 (don't use the others) and can confirm that sliceplane snapping only works when NO POLYs are selected. If you're in vertex or edge sub-element mode you can snap the sliceplan like anything else but when polys are selected - no can do! Annoying because you only see the preview of the cut when the slice is going across selected polys. Dunno if they changed this in later versions but i doubt it.
When using the Slicing Plane within the Edit Poly modifier, If you select all of the polygons on the object, snapping doesn't recognize (or engage) any of the selected geometry's vertices or lines . I'm attaching a picture as reference. Hopefully this helps.
