Command panel size problem

Command panel size problem

Hello,

I am using the command panel on my second monitor which is 1920x1080, as my main one. Every time I open Max, I have to resize the panel height because it is longer than my screen, not allowing me to select whatever buttons there are on the bottom of the panel. Thing is it won't keep the given size, I have to resize it in every new Max session, which isn't a big deal, but is quite annoying.

Thanks

Vincent

Going to archive this as a defect instead. We've passed this onto the UI team and they may be able to update this. Not sure if this a core max setting being affected or something in workspaces, etc.

That sounds like some strange behavior.  Let me see if I understand everything correctly:

  • You have two monitors and they are both 1920 X 1080
  • You always like to have your command panel floating in the second monitor
  • Every time you start Max the command panel needs to be moved back to the second monitor
  • Every time you do this, you also have to re-size the command panel because although it fits on the first monitor, it is too long for the second monitor.

Is that correct?

Some things to look into might include using a custom Workspace to save your layout:

Also, make sure you have the same display scaling on both monitors (go to Start > Settings > System > Display)

thanks,

Thanks for the answer; I managed to get rid of my problem by saving my
custom workspace.

Just so you know, my problem was nearly as you explained it, apart from the
command panel going back to the 1st monitor; it would always be at the
right place, on the second monitor, but would get resized in height each
time I restarted Max, not allowing me to access the buttons in the bottom
of the window.
