I would like to get more people to use 3dsmax. 🙂
To achieve this, an apprentice edition of 3dsmax could help.
An apprentice edition of 3dsmax, similar to what Houdini is offering, would provide easier access to 3dsmax for people who are interested in learning it.
For example Houdini was a hard to get, expensive niche product way back in time.
That changed when they offered the easy to acquire apprentice edition, enabling everybody to learn it easily.
The current 3dsmax student edition is putting up too many deterrents to get willing learners to go through all the trouble of trying to acquire one. (3d beginners confronted me with this argument.)
Couldn't find a similar suggestion via search, though I would be surprised to be the first one to mention such an idea.
