Allow Removal of Custom Attributes on Imported Mesh

Allow Removal of Custom Attributes on Imported Mesh

Scenario:

You model and UV a mesh in Maya 2018.  You then export it via FBX and import it into 3ds Max 2018.

Problem:

You will notice that there is a custom attribute roll-out on the imported mesh that has one custom attribute entitled "currentUVSet" with a value of "map1".  This custom attribute cannot be removed.  The Parameter Editor will not work for this.

If you had exported the mesh as an OBJ and then imported it into 3ds Max, there would be no such custom attribute.  This issue only occurs with FBX.

It would helpful if 3ds Max had a tool or command that would allow for the removal of this custom attribute.

This should do the trick:

for i = custAttributes.count $ to 1 by -1 do custAttributes.delete $ i

If you want, you can drag this to a toolbar to create a macro for it automatically.

Archiving as there's the scripted solution below and not something we would add to the core application.
