This type of error was popping up for people using iRay, I've not seen it happen with Scanline before.

You could try resetting user profile, if you have rights to do that in the college. Search 'factory reset 3dsmax'.
Probably best get phone support if really urgent, I'm only a promoted regular software user.

These crashes can be complicated, especially when using multiple software in a strange environment, with multiple user policys.

It all depends on how good your college IT system works, and if the department is willing to deal with AutoDesk on the phone for tricky problems. Some networks can be real nightmares. Workstations full of software, multiple user accounts.

This may not be your case, but it explains why the software works fine at home. When someone trained knows how to use it properly, without an IT department.

Sorry, reread your post. I got it backwards.

How clean 'dedicated' 3dsmax setup is your system. What are your home pc specs compared to at college?

Hmm in my campus its HP z400 Workstation. Can't find much detail about the procie ram and vga because admins privilage.
Anyways, when i try to add zdepth in my brother laptop, it work just fine. No problem.

Both me and my brother using student license, but mine is 3ds 2015, my brother 3ds 2016..
For mine, i install both in my computer and my laptop, but both can't add zdepth. I dont know if the problem is from my computer/laptop specs or from the installer. I dont want to use the 3ds 2016 though because some says theres bug in using the Ludo rig
