Short of the obvious, to what extent does this go? Revert back to a brand new installation? The reason I ask is that I have spent a LOT of time installing various scripts, customizing my menu and quads, etc, and would hate to lose all that work... My Asset Tracking has gone missing and apparently, that's the only way to get it back. I'm just trying to figure out if it's worth it or not.

It reverts all settings as though it was freshly installed.

You can save out your UI (Customize > Save Custom UI scheme) that will retain all of those settings. Including your quad menus.

You will however need to reinstall all of your scripts again.

@Mr.Mxyzptlk. Actually, resetting max nuked the saved UI scheme file where I had saved quad menus. So basically, yes. reverts all settings as though freshly installed, including overwriting the UI folder and any saved UI schemes.

Takeaway is if you do save UI schemes, do not save them in the UI folder. Move them out first before resetting 3dsMax.
