Hi Autodesk community,
Sorry if this may seem like a strange question, but has Vray (renderer, modifiers, materials, etc) been discontinued in 3ds max 2021? I recall using older versions of max back in 2015, and older and them having Vray components. But in 2021, I have Arnold, which is new to me. I'm currently following an architectural house modeling tutorial on YT and its been heavily reliant on Vray (3ds max 2015/2016). But I've just skipped them or substituted it for something existing in my current version (e.g. Vray material = Physical Material (under general section of material editor).
If Vray is still available, is there a way to download it into my version of max? (2021)
Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry, I just looked up that Vray is a separate component outside of Autodesk. I remembered that it used to be a component of max with older versions I used. Thanks for the reply.

Potentially you were thinking of mental ray? It was discontinued and replaced by Arnold in 3ds Max 2018.

I was particularly referring to Vray (Vray renderer, Vray material, Vray lights), but I also didn't know about the mental ray replacement.

V-Ray was never included with 3ds Max. A license had to be purchased separately from Chaos Group.
Mental ray used to be the "main" renderer in 3ds Max until it was replaced by Arnold starting in 3ds Max 2018.
You can purchase V-Ray for 3ds Max at Chaos Group
