Hi all!!
I've just finished setup 3ds max for my new desktop.
But I found out the Standard View port lighting is quite weird here.
As you can see the screenshots below, it's showing a Back light, completely opposite,
which is not like I've normally seen using 3ds max for a decade.
Plus, it only happens when the Standard options's on.
Does anyone have any idea for it? Please help!
Thank you.

What version of Max and what renderer? What was the last verstion of Max that displayed it as you are used to?
Also, can you upload the file for me to look at?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Hi! Thanks for the reply!
I'm using 2022 version and scanline Renderer, normally.
I don't think it really matters what renderer I use because most of renderers don't affect to viewport light in my case.
But there were some recognizable differences when I changed renderer and render the viewport scene.
Most of renderers were okay, but only 'Quicksilver Hardware Render' gives weird look just like my viewport.
But here's a thing!
I found out if I change the Driver to Nitrous Direct3D 9, which is not Recommended for my graphic driver,
it fixes viewport lighting problems for now.
However, It is hard to say the problem is solved because I prefer to use the recommended driver.
And there is other issue when I use Nitrous 9...
Anyway, it happens in all of my max files but you still can what file it is with the attachment below.
Thank you!

Can I ask why you are using Scanline renderer when you have Arnold and a 3060Ti? Does your work require that?
I'll look at your file today and get back to you with what I find.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I opened your file in Max 2022 and it works normally for me. So, there is some issue on your machine we need to find. I've attached a video of it.
Have you tried an ENU reset and or uninstalling and reinstalling your 3060 drivers?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Hi!
Firstly, I already have reinstalled the grapics drivers but nothing changed with the issue.
And then I saw your reply today so I tried to reset an ENU, which was I didn't know about anything about.
Then oh my goodness!! The Viewport lighting came back to normal!
Thank you so so much for all of your kind help!
(Hope any others might have a problem like me could find this!)
▼ All fixed!

Oh, and the reason why I use scanline renderer instead of Arnold is just the production pipeline I work at doesn't need any rendering work in 3ds Max. We check all of our 3D product out in UE5.
Now problem is solved but you might be still curious by any chance 🙂
