View jumps to Perspective when creating an Object

Hello everyone,

When i create a new object (Box, spline or whatelse) in Top View, the viewport jumps to Perspective Mode and centers to the grid. Same in any other orthogonal view. Perspektive view works fine.

Anyone knows if there is a button that i just have to switch off or is there another way to get rid of this function? (3dsMax 2016)

Thanks for your help,

Marco

Well, There is another post with a very similiar problem and asking the same question - which I replied too.

Can I tell you how to get rid of this "Function" NO, because it is not a standard function - at least that I am aware of.

I mean my version 3DS Max 2016 never behaves this way - and try as I may I cannot seem to duplicate the problem you are haveing!

I suspect you may have some strange keyboard mapping going on with KB shortcuts?

I'd sure like to see a video of you duplicating this behavior..

And This is the previous post ( still active )

As sometimes when I am in front view or top view I then like to use the alt keay and the middle mouse botton in order to automaticly see the perspective view port, but it always by default switches to orthographic, and then I need to press P in order to get in perspective view port. Is it any how possible to desable the orthographic view so that it never switch automaticly from front or top view port after I choose to rotate the view...

Thanks. The problem apperared for the second time whithin a couple of weeks when i started a new 3dsmax project from a blank scene..

Today i opened the file without having this behaviour. Draging a spline/ box now keeps the view as positioned.

Seems like this problem disappears on its own. I will have an eye on that to find out whether a simple restart of max will help next time.

Edit: we have 3 licenses, workstations are more or less the same, same graphics Card, same win 7, same plugins, same max installation procedure and service packs. Must be some custom setting within 3dsmax i think/ hope.this behavior happens repeatedly and only on this machine.

Hello,

This is a "one size fits all" suggestion, but Resetting the Default Users Settings in 3ds Max often does fix usability issues. 3rd-party plugins and scripts can alter these settings, so resetting your ENU folder (after making a backup of it) is something you can try. Please let us know if this suggestion helps.
