I am curious to know what Autodesk product is comparable to After Effects in that is can do post effects?

Composite ships for free and can be down loaded from the Autodesk site here.

The other solution is Smoke, that is for MAC only and ofcourse if you have a BIG budget than Flame or Inferno.
