Can you somehow bind mouse button 4/5 to delete or other functions?

When i try to customize, it does not work. Seems it doesnt detect MB 4/5 once i click them.

In you mouse software assign the mouse button to a desired key on the keyboard...

After that you can customize that key in max.

Works great for me:

  1. thumb + button
  2. shift + thumb button
  3. alt + thumb button
  4. ctrl + thumb button
  5. shift + alt + thumb button
  6. shift + alt +ctrl + thumb button
  7. shift + ctrl + thumb button
  8. alt+ ctrl + thumb button

/enjoy

Logitech mice comes with their own mouse software to configure the mouse buttons.

Most other brands has something similar.

If it's more than just a generic three button mouse.

Hello @Anonymous and welcome to the community,

I wanted to add that I use a program called Auto Hotkey for this.  It's simple for small things like this, and I've been using it to map controls to my numpad that games don't let me map to as well as functions in Max for years now.  (You can do combos too.)

Did any of the posts in this thread help solve this issue for you?  Do you have any questions I can help you with?

Best Regards,

In which universe do I need to create a macro in a custom remapping software in order to use the additional mouse buttons for shortcuts in 3ds Max.

How about you implement this trivial thing by default?
