I always use a rectangle to measure things from a plan... in 3ds max 2014 the dimension of the rectangle were updated while creating http://c2n.me/3apOhtj but in 2015 it doesn't http://c2n.me/3apNAQA.

it's very bad. can I change it somewhere?

thanks in advance

best regards

I've got the same problem here in max 2014 since I installed max 2015 I belive. I'll let you know if I find a solution.

Maybe having both 2014 and 2015 installed causes the problem?

Works perfectly here, and I have 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 (SP3/EXT2) installed.

Max 2016 (SP1/EXT1)
Win7Pro x64 (SP1). i5-3570K @ 4.4GHz, 8Gb Ram, DX11.
nVidia GTX760 (2GB) (Driver 430.86).

I found a "solution" to my problem. I clicked the "Adaptive Degradation" button on the bottom of the UI. So I turned off adaptive degradation, then turned it back on. I guess it's some kind of Autodesk black magic. Since then the viewport works as it used to. Try that, might help.

ok I got it... it's the new scene explorer. 😞 if you disable (close) it the th spinner updates as excepted.

now why is this happen?

That might explain why it works here - I don't use the scene explorer (I reinstate the old SelectByName dialog). Lucky me - yes - but it helps narrow down the culprit.

Max 2016 (SP1/EXT1)
Win7Pro x64 (SP1). i5-3570K @ 4.4GHz, 8Gb Ram, DX11.
nVidia GTX760 (2GB) (Driver 430.86).

I have also posted this in chaogroup forum and the problem seems to be random.

I hope to get a fix for it someday.

but maybe I have to wait for max 2016. 🙂

I can reproduce it if the rectangle command is still active and the scene explorer has the focus.
If I click on the command panel once, the focus is on there and the spinners are updated.
