unable to save

I've been saving my work but when I close the workplace and open it again, I find that the work is not saved, even when I click save as in the same folder name. The only way it saves if I 'saved as' and created a new title for the project. which is inconvenient since the app crashes suddenly and I need to save every 10 minutes.

Can you save other files on the same location? Could be that you don't have the admin rights to save the files?

What version of 3ds Max do you have? It's hard to say with the data on hand but potentially you may have the ALC script as the symptoms can be similar.

Make sure you have the 3ds Max Security tool installed and see if it detects anything when opening 3ds Max or any scene.
