Unable to assign new shortcuts to 3ds Max 2024 Slate Material Editor

I'm unable to assign new shortcuts to the 2024 Slate material editor. Even if keyboard shortcut override is active the new key assigned will only affect the shortcuts outside the Material Editor. And if I assign keys that are not used they will not do anything. 

PS! I tried assigning a shortcut for the "Show material in viewport" because this button is not currently working, but this action has never worked (in previous 3ds max versions as well) even if you have an option to assign a key to it in the Hotkey Editor.

I believe its a bug within the material editor in max 2024. I have a fresh install, all other shortcuts are working as they should. and of course I have the latest update, as mentioned in my post.

I reproduced the error in older versions of Max, specifically Max 2022.

When was the last time the override of the shortcuts worked?

I think it has not worked for multiple max versions actually. I have tried assigning ‘show textures on object’ in earlier versions without luck as well but didn’t report it because I could use the menu button and thought the keyboard shortcut meant some other command.  But this should be addressed, it would be nice to be able to make your own shortcuts in the slate material editor.
