Trim objects help

So I want to 'cut' three stairs from a staircase I've put inside a house, but I don't seem to find the right commands to do so without distorting the rest of the staircase. (I'm looking for a command like the Trim in Autocad) https://omegle.onl/

Can you show something? There are so many ways to do the same thing in Max. With a bit of an idea of what your scene looks like and an idea of what you are trying to do it will be easier to give some useful advice. 

 

Possibly explore Booleans. The new 'Boolean Modifer' in Max 2025 is really robust and powerful. It can probably do what you need really easily.
