Template Slowdown - 3ds Max 2025 & 2026

Hi
Recently I noticed that when using a template created with Corona (at least 13-14), 3ds max has a noticeable slowdown when merging objects, calling materials and a massive slowdown when open a material lybrary (.mat) specially when the material has a Multi-Sub Object, I needed to turn off rendering thumbs in order to record the video.
I have post this in Corona forum, but I havent had any response. There are 2 things that I have also notice:
1 Default template works perfect.
2 V-Ray doesnt seem to be affected that much (using the Corona template).
3 I have another template created with older Corona version and everything works smoothly.
I want to know if someone else has experienced this issue.
Im using 3d Max 2025 & 2026.

Hi Heather

I havent found a solution for this, also Corona developers doesnt have any clue

Fortunately someone gave the tip to rename the file as maxstart and place it on project folder, that really helped me

hello @calberto.cart, thank you very much for the information. I understand that you are experiencing a performance issue with 3ds Max when merging files with Corona templates. I noticed that you mentioned the issue is related to Corona renderer, and you have posted the issue in their forum. It would be also great to contact Chaos Group via their support channel. They will have a deeper understanding of Corona renderer, as they are the developers behind the tool, making them the most knowledgeable source for insights and technical support. Please allow me to attach the contact information below if you need:

Additionally, have you tried merging the files without the templates, and if the performance gets better by this way?

Thank you!

Thanks

I have tried to get in contact with them, as I said, they dont have any clue, they even didnt know what a template is.

I was hoping that someone here could give me any advise or recomendation or solution.

As I replied to Heather, someone in other forum gave me a very handy tip, which is to rename the template file as maxstart and place it in project folder. That did the trick.
