Splines - Converting vertices

Hi!

Sometimes, if I convert vertices of a spline from bezier or corner to smooth it doesn´t work and the vertex only behaves like a corner..

Is there a way to reset the vertices, or what should I do?

Thank you very much in advance!

Can you provide a workflow that produces this problem?

Hi Steffen!

Is there a way to reset the vertices, or what should I do?

Right mouse button when you are above the vertex (one or more).
A menu will appear.

Select "Reset Tangents"

Always use this menu for make any changes in your vertices. Must work always.

Greetings from Spain!

Hola!

Thanks for your tip, but I tried that already and it doesn´t work 😞

I come across this problem if a Spline has separated segments. After connecting the segments, the connected vertices behave in that strange manner.

My workaround is to add new vertices via "refine" right next to them and delete the faulty ones. The new added vertices work fine then...

Hi,

Is it possible that your vertices are not welded?

That means each segment has its own pair of vertices,

If so, select all Vertices, and use the Weld tool, and try again

Hi,

no, that had checked before...

You can reproduce it, by cutting a  piece out of a spline, so that you are left with two segments. When you use "connect" to close the gap between them and it becomes one segment again, the vertices which got connected ignore the tangents 😞

I made this short video trying to reproduce the problem,

I don't know if this is what you're talking about, but, if so, then, in my case there was no problem:
