Solidworks 2018 import files

Hi,

I updated my Solidworks to the latest version 2018, but the 3ds Max can't import files anymore (sldprt or sldasm). Before the update the importation worked nice.
Could you help me please?

Thanks

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for coming to the 3DS Max forums! Do you have a file that I can test on my side? Is there a warning that pops up on import, or does it just not see the file at all?

@DarrenP it looks like Solidworks 2018 released some time around September 26, 2017 because thats when the launch event was.

Talk to you soon 😄

Hi @Anonymous

What version of 3ds Max are you using? 3ds Max 2019 should be supporting Solidworks 2018 imports.

Hello,

I am running into a similar issue to the one resolved here.  I am attempting to Import 2019 SolidWorks files with Max 2019 and nothing is happening.  I have an empty inspector when I do both mesh conversion on or off.  What's interesting is that the 2018 version of these same files will import fine.  Is this a known issue with SW 2019?

Using the tutorial files found here:

Best,

Hi Brent,

Based on my notes, 3ds Max 2019.3 can only read up to Solidworks 2018 files.

3ds Max 2020+ can read Solidworks 2019
