3ds max 2024 - Slate Material Editor  - the "Show Map in Viewport" icon does not work.  Trying to understand why.

Thank you for reporting the issue, the team is aware, has been reported before, see 3ds max 2024 New Slate Material Editor bug for workaround.

Seriously guys, I've waited a couple of months to switch over to 2024 and day 1 I get this problem, unresolved as well from Daniel's post 2 months ago !

I mean it's fundamental to see maps on materials, pretty basic stuff, why isn't it resolved btw?

Hello,

in addition to this problem I'd like to add that in 2024 SME the red stripes that indicated which texture/material node is selected for viewing in the viewport are not present! It is a convenience I'd like to see again in the SME.

The attached image shows what the nodes looked like in 2022 SME.

Appreciate there is a workaround with right click but still guys, does no-one test the software?

Hi,

It seems there are people 'testing' the software, besides the Beta testers. 😉

Just wanted to say that besides the slow process of right-clicking the node and 'show material in viewport' on each node, there is always the main Menu -> View -> Show Materials in viewport as -> [Options].

If that still doesn't work, there is a very handy button on the STR Tools Script that will turn on/off all Materials in the viewport:
