Slow Operating Speed on 2020

Hi,

I am starting out in a game design degree in college. I need 3ds Max 2020 to complete this course. Right now it takes a long time to load up and get going. It even takes a long time to close when I am done. I have an intel core i5 8th gen CPU and a GEFORCE GTX 1050 Ti. I looked up the software recommendations and saw that this card is not on the list. Is it still able to run the program like I need it to or do I need to upgrade?

Your specs seem decent enough. Even though your graphics card is not on the list people use Max with less.

When you say that it takes a long time, how many seconds approximately does it take to open and close 3ds Max?

I just did a test on my somewhat old system (i7 4790k, 16GB RAM, RTX 2080 Super) and it took roughly 45 seconds to get to a point where I could start doing something in 3ds Max.
