- screen 1 = 150% dpi scaling
- screen 2 & 3 = 100%
- according to windows, these are the "recommended" settings
The reply from Autodesk is this:
"It is a known issue with 3ds Max that you cannot use it across multiple screens at different resolutions.
They must all match.
Technical support do not have access to the development team fix or release schedule.
Please adjust your workflow accordingly"
So, after setting all monitors to 125% the problem looks solved. Color picker is working and no more floating panels, glitches, ...
BUT: The drawback is that all other programs (email, web browser, windows explorer, desktop,...) have a different scaling on monitor 1 vs 2 & 3. The previous settings would be better in that case...
I also found this on the Corona Render forum:
"The only remaining scaling issue is with different scaling across multi-monitor setup, but even then, the only software I ever had issue with was... 3ds Max :- )."
Is there a solution to this problem other than setting the scaling for all monitors the same?
There are a few similar forum posts (some going back to ca. 2018), but it's a bit frustrating that in 2025 3dsMax is still not able to do this...
