saving problem

hello guys, i have a funny problem these days...

when i save max (2020), no .max file is created and no error from max, i don't know what it means, i disabled anti virus, i checked preferences but nothing seem to help, any idea??? thanks.

Hello,

Maybe there is some confusion as to where it's saving. Try this. Use Save As instead and save to the desktop. Check and see if it saved the .max file there this time. If so then it may be that Max is actually saving the files, just not where you think they should be.

Another thought would be rights to folders and files. Have you tried to run Max as Administrator? Right click Max icon > Run as Adminstrator

thanks man for your answer, i solved the problem with brut force method meaning i uninstalled max then reinstalled it, the issue is fixed.

Thanks for your update, and I'm glad the problem is fixed for you!

My feeling is that you may have changed your default \Scenes save location in 3ds Max (via the Customize >  Configure Project Paths menu). Resetting your 3ds Max preferences would fix this, but if you're still wondering about previous file locations, you might open a Windows Explorer menu and do a search on your PC for all .MAX files (*.max) just to confirm where they might've been saved.

You need to provide a little bit more info. Any error messages? Where are you trying to save the file?
