Regarding graphics card configuration issues in 3d max

Hello everyone! I am a learner of 3D design, because I want to process the models I scanned with the MIRACO 3D scanner more professionally. I have recently started to learn and use the 3D Max software, but my computer configuration is currently a bit behind. , so I want to update my configuration again. Currently, I have some questions about the configuration of the graphics card. Hope I can get some help and advice here.

First of all, I would like to know how much impact does the configuration of the graphics card have on the performance and effects of the software when using the 3D Max software? Are there any recommended graphics card configurations suitable for using 3D Max?

Secondly, I also want to know some existing problems about graphics cards. At present, I want to choose a suitable balance point between price and performance. So whether the video memory of the graphics card is something I need to pay special attention to, I hope you can give me some suggestions.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my question. If you have any experience or suggestions on the graphics card configuration of 3D Max software, or have any insights on the above issues, please feel free to share them. I want to be able to choose a suitable graphics card configuration to get better performance and results when using 3D Max software. Thanks again for all your help!

Hi @miachelbrown4 ,

Appreciate you bringing this question to the Autodesk Forums. So i always suggest thoroughly reading through the 3ds Max certified hardware list if you are on the fence about a GPU.

I would also take a look at a few YouTube videos on the subject, heres a good one that focuses more on the render engine V-Ray, so i guess it also depends on what render engine you plan on using. I hope this helps!

Warm regards,
