problem loading image sequence

I am having an issue with max 2016 where it wont recognise a complete image sequence. For example in a 100 frame sequence it only wants to load 9 frames. It wont let me manually enter the end frame to the actual number. The sequences were created in AE and I have double checked all the namings every thing seems to be fine. I loads back up in AE fine.  I have been having this problem for a few days now. for some of the sequences I converted them to jpeg from PNG and that helped. For some it just started working after the 10 times I tried loading them. 

Any one have this issue before?

Version 2016. network install.  problem occurs both over network and from local files.

I must have been tired last week because your screenshot does show the problem.  I tested your frames, I can confirm they don't load as a sequence and I have an explanation as to why. 

Each of these frames are technically not sequential with the naming that Adobe added to the end of the files.  Take for example the following file names:

SIEPLogo_0000_Frame-43.png

SIEPLogo_0001_Frame-42.png

For these frames to be read as a sequence, they would need to have the same numbers shown in blue.  Otherwise, the files sequence up in two areas, and actually those two areas go in the wrong direction.  In Red, they count down, in blue they count up.  Max is going to need the file names before the red areas to be exactly the same in order to see these as a sequence.  Does that make sense?

How can I add the number of images, more than 100.. please help me... please, my secuence have 240 images... and I can not add more.. I am very sad....
