phoenix fd

Does anyone know why this happens? When the big cylinder is visible - there is fire, when it is hidden - there is no fire. I do not change anything else. This is in phoenix fd.
There is no such thing with fumefx - everything is fine.

Your best bet is to post this in the Chaosgroup forums since they make Phoenix FD.

However, I'm betting that the cylinder is the source object for the FX, so hiding it removes any source objects from the simulator leading to nothing happening.  If you don't want to see your cylinder in render, uncheck "Visible to Render" in the object properties.
