open files in multicore

For a long time when using objects with larger geometrics, the program takes a long time to open the files, when I see the task manager it appears that it is only using 2 of the 20 cores, How can I make it open the files using all the cores?

Not all operations in 3ds Max can use multiple cores.  In fact, opening a file seems to use a single core in several apps I've looked at.
