Missing materials on FBX import (whatever version)

Hi,

I have a problem importing fbx into 3ds max with materials. In attached archive I have 2 files of a same model.

- olya_working.fbx - this one imports into Max with materials

- olya_not_working.fbx - this one imports into Max without materials

Both models imports with materials into blender and into other tools, but not 3ds max.

Please help me to import olya_not_working.fbx into 3ds max with materials

However, I can offer some general suggestions that might help resolve the issue: 1. Check FBX settings: When importing the FBX file into 3ds Max, make sure to review the import settings and ensure that the "Import Materials" option is enabled. Sometimes, this option can be disabled by default, resulting in missing materials during import. 2. Material assignments: Double-check the material assignments within the original 3D software or application that was used to create the FBX file. Verify that the materials are correctly assigned to the objects and have valid file paths or textures associated with them. 3. Material compatibility: It's possible that the materials used in the FBX file are not compatible with 3ds Max. Different software applications use different material systems and formats. Ensure that the materials are supported by 3ds Max and consider converting them to a compatible format if needed. 4. File version compatibility: Confirm that the FBX file you're trying to import is compatible with the version of 3ds Max you're using. Different versions of 3ds Max may have varying levels of support for FBX file formats. If possible, try exporting the FBX file from the original software in different FBX versions and test the import in 3ds Max. If none of these suggestions resolve the issue, it may be helpful to consult with the support resources provided by Autodesk, the developer of 3ds Max. They can offer specific guidance based on your software version and assist in troubleshooting the problem further. I apologize for not being able to directly assist with the attached files, but I hope these general suggestions help you resolve the issue.

Thank you for the reply 🙂

I've checked everything and that's why I came here. In fact, the model which I load into 3ds max and don't get the materials (olya_not_working.fbx) from was directly converted from the one which is working (olya_working.fbx). For this process I use free software called Noesis and I use it because this program can reset animation and skeleton transformations. Of course, this software can do something with the model and its materials during the converting process and I think it does since 3ds max do not recognize the materials. However, any other tools, as I mentioned earlier, loads new FBX after converting just fine. The only software which can't load it turn to be the one which should load it under any circumstances, since FBX was designed to work with it.

So, it's still in need of help
