Could be coincidence but recently this week I'd get an error log on opening 3ds max 2014 (Win 7):
System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ---> System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for 'Ephere.Utilities.Evaluator' threw an exception. ---> System.IO.IOException: The process cannot access the file 'C:\Users\Ben\AppData\Local\Temp\qs212nbz.dll' because it is being used by another process. at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.FileStream.Init(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, Int32 rights, Boolean useRights, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options, SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES secAttrs, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy, Boolean useLongPath, Boolean checkHost) at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy) at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share) at Microsoft.JScript.JSCodeGenerator.FromFileBatch(CompilerParameters options, String[] fileNames) at System.CodeDom.Compiler.CodeCompiler.FromSourceBatch(CompilerParameters options, String[] sources) at System.CodeDom.Compiler.CodeCompiler.System.CodeDom.Compiler.ICodeCompiler.CompileAssemblyFromSourceBatch(CompilerParameters options, String[] sources) at Ephere.Utilities.Evaluator..cctor() --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at Ephere.Utilities.Evaluator.EvalToDouble(String statement) at Ephere.Gui.NodeViews.Skin.Area.GetLeftValue(Dictionary`2 parameterValues) at Ephere.Gui.NodeViews.NodeView.Node.LayoutNodes() at Ephere.Gui.NodeViews.Schematic.ValueNode.LayoutNodes() at Ephere.Gui.NodeViews.Schematic.InternalInputsNode.LayoutNodes() at Ephere.Gui.NodeViews.Skin.SetBoilerPlateSchematicView(Schematic view) at Ephere.Gui.NodeViews.Skin.get_Default() at Autodesk.Max.StateSets.Plugin..ctor() --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at System.RuntimeTypeHandle.CreateInstance(RuntimeType type, Boolean publicOnly, Boolean noCheck, Boolean& canBeCached, RuntimeMethodHandleInternal& ctor, Boolean& bNeedSecurityCheck) at System.RuntimeType.CreateInstanceSlow(Boolean publicOnly, Boolean skipCheckThis, Boolean fillCache, StackCrawlMark& stackMark) at System.RuntimeType.CreateInstanceDefaultCtor(Boolean publicOnly, Boolean skipCheckThis, Boolean fillCache, StackCrawlMark& stackMark) at System.Activator.CreateInstance(Type type, Boolean nonPublic) at System.Activator.CreateInstance(Type type) at Autodesk.Max.Manager.LoadAssembly(String name, Boolean startingUp) at Autodesk.Max.Manager.LoadAssemblies()
It could be coincidence but I installed and ran CCleaner before I started noticing this error.
Whenever I open any saved scene, I get another error box "Missing Dlls" that says
FileName: Built-in Class:AnchorHelperObject SuperClass: 0x1160
I've read a lot of similar threads without many answers. I've tried repairing but I'm planning on reinstalling completely but hoping there might be an easier way.
