Mapping ctrl+shift+alt results in ctrl+shift+x

While customizing the UI I wanted to map the "customize UI" to ctrl+shift+alt+k, since that's what I'm used to in Photoshop. I've noticed that upon pressing the alt button, the hotkey listener reports a "k" instead of "alt" being pressed. This only happens when using the left control key on my keyboard, however this behavior does not apply to any other program than 3ds Max. Unfortunately this renders mapping the combined modifier keys useless, any idea what might be causing the problem?

Very strange, do you have a special keyboard or have it set to a special region?

It works fine on my setup:CUI.JPG

I am using a laptop, further testing showed that this behavior carries across multiple programs. So it’s probably not related to Max. The keyboard firmware is at the most recent version, reverting back to a previous one didn’t help. I’ve sent a message to the manufacturer’s customer service, let’s hope they can help me fix it.
