Hi,

Here are just a few of the available tutorials for creating a light bulb. Have you tried these?

Do you want the light bulb object to be bigger or the light intensity strong - larger glow?

I'm sure someone will be able to help with this.

Please give us some details on the current set up. What kind of light are you using? What renderer? Post a screenshot of your light settings - that will help.

Hi - I  don't know off hand, I don't think I've ever used "Glow,  and I'm away from Max at the moment. I would imagine that there are limits to the amount of glow - not sure what they are are however. Sorry. Hang in there and maybe someone else will come along and help soon. In the meantime take a look at the tutorials in the link below and see if they are of any help.

Hi,

I dont know that it's that hard - I just really don't know much about it. And, so far, no one has come along with any experience with your particular issue to share any advice. When that happens you are going to have to do your own footwork and search/experiment until they do. Actually this thread is full of links and searches that should help somewhat - have you explored them all? Have you done your own searches?

I did find another one - not sure if it's included with the others - that deal specifically with the glow effect you are after.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMy3Ln6ppz0

Also - you might have better luck doing some research on volume lighting - you may have better results (larger glow area) going that route.

Sorry I can't be more help, I do hope you get it figured out! I know it seems frustrating now but keep at it. Soon you'll be answering all the questions! 🙂

01) Rclick on your object, Properties, change G-Buffer Object ID to 1

02) press 8, Effects, select Lens Effects, select Glow on the right

03) scroll down to Glow Element, Options tab, tick Object ID which should be already 1

04) back in Parameters tab, in Radial Color...change left one to say Green...yes Green so you can definitely see change

05) In Render Setup dialog, Renderer, in Options, change Frame Buffer Type to Interger (16 bits per channel)

Render....

06) go back to step 04 and play around with size and intensity...and change color to red if that's what you want...

Personally, you're better off rendering a Geo ID and do your 'Effects' in comp rather than in Max...but it's a free world....do whatever you want...

no worries...still don't know why i had to change it to 16 bit to see the render tho...maybe just some restriction with the Glow in Max...

So glad you are trying to help and it seems to be working for some people but sadly not for me, absolute zero changed.

Is it possible you could add me on Skype?
