I'm planning to buy a laptop for "on the road" work and was wondering if the nVidia MX250 2GB mobile GPU is sufficient to run 3DSMax 2019 or 2020 (even if slowly)?
The MX250 is not officially listed as "tested".
Anyone have a good laptop recommendation that works well with 3DSMax?
Cheers, Rob.

I think this crad will not carry 3dsMAX 2019-2020. If you specialize in running 3D, I think you should choose Laptop Workstation & nVIDIA Quadro instead of nVIDIA GTX or MX. Regards,
I'm using it with 3DSMax 2019 without any issues so far but I'm don't UV map extremely high res textures and keep my poly count low as my work needs to work in games/simulations.
I guess if one is doing some high poly count rendering with lots of high res textures and extensive animation you might bump out of the 2GB VRAM which could cause performance problems as it starts to swap in/out of much slower RAM.
For game/sim content, no issues so far.
Cheers, Rob.
Hi Bangon2006,
Thanks for your question. The Nvidia MX250 GPU is only 18 months old, so it should be able to handle 3ds Max 2020/2021, but (ideally) a GPU with a big more RAM would be helpful.
Here is a list of (general) systems requirements for 3ds Max; please let us know if this helps!
