Issue: Render DOESN'T match view port image (Arnold/Particles 2018)

As depicted above is an example of what plagues my entire render. Choosing at random, frame 68, what is showing in the view port is not making it's way to be what renders. What makes it worse is if I let the render roll doing frames 0 to 300, the particles fill and do not move, though in the view port I get complete evacuation of the particles.

I have done 3 other animations that incorporate the same things (particles/forces/modifiers) that made this one and did not encounter this issue.

Anyone's input to what I could be missing from selections made in the program to hardware will be very helpful. I'm completely baffled by this.

THANK YOU!!!

@lbehler

Thanks for bringing your question to the forums, it looks like you are visiting as a new member to the 3DS Max forum. I want to extend a warm welcome to the Autodesk Community!

That issue doesn't sound very fun to deal with, I will dig around and see if other folks have encountered similar issues in the past! I also have a few questions that may help to narrow down the cause of this issue.

  • Are you using any plugins?
  • What forces do you have applied to the particle simulation?

In the meantime, I wonder if adding a Cache Operator to the particle simulation could work to resolve this issue, so the particles are pre-calculated and stored in the cache memory. You could also see if applying a Mesher Compound object to the particle simulation gives you any results.

Looking forward to an update on this 😄

Hello @hagen.deloss !

Thank you responding and for the warm welcome Smiley Very Happy !!!

I will start playing today with what you suggested about the Cache Operator and Mesher Compond to see what happens and get back to you on that *Thumbs Up*!!!

The answers to the questions:

  • Are you using any plugins? No plugins.
  • What forces do you have applied to the particle simulation? Motion Field. 7 of them, type set to Gravity, with Boundary boxes, varying Magnitudes, and animated to move to certain positions at certain times to make the flow go the way it needs to.
