Interpolation for the Helix spline shape?

Am I missing something or there's really no way to set the interpolation steps for the path of the Helix spline shape?

Thanks in advance.

Looks like you're correct, though having checked back through various previous releases, it has never had one. Probably an omission a long time ago.

Max 2016 (SP1/EXT1)
Win7Pro x64 (SP1). i5-3570K @ 4.4GHz, 8Gb Ram, DX11.
nVidia GTX760 (2GB) (Driver 430.86).

That's bad. 😞 I don't see what's the reason for this omission. Hopefully this gets added in the next release.

Anyways, I think I fond a workaround. I can add an "Edit spline" modifier and set all the points to "Smooth" instead of "Corner". Works for me.

Converting it to an Editable Spline will give you back the Interpolation rollout (though I quite realise that is not an optimum solution). By "omission" I meant they accidentally forgot about it, and nobody has ever noticed so it has remained MIA. I guess you could class it as a bug and report it...

Well, unlike for example circle it doesn't have bezier points so the setting interpolation would be kind of pointless.

That said, I've created Bezier Helix before that has the interpolation and bezier handles.

That's not true. You need change spline from "line" to "curve" to get bezier vertices.

That's not what I meant, this is when you collapse it to Editable Spline (where there's obviously the Interpolation rollout present), I'm talking about Helix. Instead try to come up with something meaningful that what would change if you changed interpolation values on Helix if there was the Interpolation rollout.

Thanks for the script! You're a hero. Exactly what I was looking for.

You can create the Helix object, apply The Normalize Spline modifier, set the parameters and convert the Helix to Editable Spline to see the result.
