OMG, 3ds max has the worst development policy ever. How can it be possible with such an expensive software...
Perhaps it would be a nice gesture for Autodesk to provide those of us struggling with this issue a free version of Revit up until they get to a point where max can import .rfa files.
The free trial of Revit is one thing but why should we have to pay for Revit when the trial period ends, especially considering it's a workaround from what we really need anyway?
PLEASE autodesk, revit its from the same companny!!! we need to be able to use RFA families inside 3dsmax as an import option. its 4 years now.....
This issue is marked as solved but the solution is nowhere to be found
Revit is from the same company, RFA seems to be the format pushed towards the industry, but somehow you lock your users out of this functionality ?
Am I right in thinking that 3ds max 2022 cannot import RFA content at all!?!? I must be mistaken? And this thread goes back to 2016?
Posting now in 2022 - with an identical OEM asset download issue. Whilst I completely agree that this should be incorporated as a matter of urgency - in the immediate term, could I request that a charitable member of the community convert an .rfa file to .max for a project I'm working on?
Many thanks in advance!
This is a major oversight especially since so many manufacturers are publishing their 3d models in an RFA format. Please do something about this!
Why hasn't this hasn't been solved yet? I'd love to pull real world products into my 3ds workflow.
RFA files aren't importing into Fusion 360 for me either. I'm so disappointed.
