How to display correctly decal textures?

Hi, i have some decal textures, but when import them in 3DS MAX, these textures appear with an black backround, (look the attached IMAGE).

How to remove this black bakground?

Hi @Anonymous 

 

The alpha is not setup correctly for your decal image, either in the original image or in the Max material Bitmap parameters rollout .  First make sure that you have transparency in the Decal image itself.  What format is the image (i.e, .png, .psd, etc. ?)  If you have verified that the decal image has transparency with an alpha channel, then post a screenshot of your material bitmap parameters rollout for the decal image.  There are settings there to take the alpha from the image in the slot (if it has an alpha channel).  Hope this helps.

The image below shows the material editor bitmap parameters for 2 images: one has an alpha channel correctly set up and one has no alpha channel.  Post back if you have any questions regarding your situation.
