I'm not sure what you mean exactly. A vertex is the end of an edge, I would not suggest having a single vertex in your model without an edge. I would suggest watching this tutorial on the fundamental modeling tools within 3ds Max 😄

i mean adding more lines and vertex points to objects for more detail such as face ,eyes nose etc . right now i am using modify - edit poly - cut .  the video  you posted is part of a series , pls give me the link to the complete series , tks .
