Hi forums!
I have a mesh i want to convert to a blueprint. this is what i've done sofar:
1. I imported my mesh via a 3rd party maxscript
2. After it imported i selected all then locked movement, rotation and scale
3. I saved, then i selected all once again and hit ungroup.
4. I edited the mesh (removed some meshes and some faces from other meshes), then i used the color beside the mesh name to change the color of the mesh.
5. Created a camera and set it to 0,0 except for the height, set orthographic projection and set one of the views to the camera and set safe frames.
Tell me if i've done correct sofar? ๐
I have followed a tutorial (I followed some parts of this tutorial except the smoothing part and material part because i want it in several colors https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1MaFsQfEKw&t=932s )
Now im stuck, according to the tutorial i'm supposed to group the mesh and create copies of the group and rotate them and such. But the meshes in my scene have different locations of their axis.
I don't know if the center parts of the ship are set to 0,0,0 so it is centered in the scene (i'm abit confused about how i should explain this part)
Now which of these do i do?
A. Apply an xform to all the meshes and group them then rotate
or
B. Group the mesh then manually edit the pivot of the group and set it to 0,0,0 via typing it then rotate.
Thanks and i hope you can help me!, if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask ๐
