How can I change UI of 3DS max 2017 to look like 2014?

I've tried unsucessfully to change the UI scheme of 2017 to resemble something I'm used to working in. Posted are screen shots from 2014 & 2017. Is this as close as I can hope to get? Exporting & importing UI theme did not seem to work. Thank you for any insight.

the only commercial edge attm that max has above other apps is its legacy... the fact that we've gotten accustomed to this program, and have used it for a while.

if we're to le-learn most of the GUI again, then we might as well move on to learn another platform... Blender has been in higher demand then ever... if people were interested in wasting time on accustoming to new looks, might as well learn something else.

autodesk aint gonna get new users cus of shiny new icons... but might loose some because of it.

Any news for the useful classic dark icon pack that works for 2018?

Kind of bitter funny as always. On the Autodesk support page for this issue the zip files are missing.... As always give the people solutions that produce more problems than before.

Hi everyone,

Reviving this thread to note that we are working on fixing those broken icon links in the Customize Icons article, and hope to have these updated within the next 24 hours. Thanks!

Dvelopers are never having a clue on things like that. But AD is leaving them on such objectives.

A professional UX designer is too expensive for this Fat Cat leaden Company... shame.

I think the article "The Latest UI Design Trends" is predominant related to web-site design, which is in my opinion completely different from program UIs design. Web-site design ist more or less a fashion thing to attract users. Program UIs are means of productivity. The user should find features without long searches, icons should be coloured and clearly different from each other, fonts should be readable and above that: All of it should be customisable by the users needs. But what is even more important for me: The UI should not be altered to meet newest fashion! It should be a evolutional, not a revolutional way of changes. I want to  know how big the worldwide economical damage is because users have to be accustomed to radical changed UIs, especially when work with the programs for years?

Regarding to the thread I found a script, which may be useful for users of MAX. It is the 3dsMax Icons Viewer. You can have a look at all the icons and save it to your harddrive. The description is short: "This tool is used for viewing & exporting all icons inside 3ds max."
