Help: Warning Loading Plug-in DLL

This error keeps coming up since yesterday every time I open max. I haven't found any solution so far on the net. I can't find the file either (this might be cos I'm looking in the wrong place).

It looks like 3ds Max is reading a second instance of the Shader.  Have you added any new user paths for plugins lately?  I remember seeing a similar error when copying a plugin DLL into a plugin directory when the DLL was already in another directory, hence the 'duplicate id' portion of the error.

Hi @siddharthpatel1512 ,

Just wanted to check in to see if you were still receiving this error message, and if you had been able to remove it by editing your plug-in paths (or removing the duplicated .dll file). Please let us know, and thanks!

Hi @Anonymous,

Could you please post a screenshot of the exact error message you're seeing when launching 3ds Max 2022? That will help us diagnose this better. Thanks!

Hello
I have the same problem. Previously, everything worked great and suddenly this message popped up ... I uninstalled and installed the program again, but the message is still there.1a.jpg

Hi @Anonymous and @siddharthpatel1512 ,

Your Security Tools are showing that they need to be updated, so I would definitely download and install the newest version from the Autodesk App Store, then seeing if this error goes away.

If not, I would suggest resetting your 3ds Max preferences to make sure there are no corrupted settings and to remove duplicated plug-in paths from your 3dsmax.ini file. Please let us know if this helps!

Hello! Hope you're doing well. The same issue happened to me and I applied the reset and it fixed it! Hopefully, it won't happen again. 🙂 I am very thankful for your advice. 🙂 Have a great day.

Hi @y.garciaC4Z2J, @siddharthpatel1512, @Anonymous, and @Anonymous,

I hope you're doing well!

I just wanted to note that these .dll warnings are usually caused by having duplicate plug-in .dlls in different folders.

My recommendation is to reset your 3ds Max user preferences, and if that doesn't fix the issue, open Windows Explorer and do a search on the plugin name.

If you find two instances of the same plugin in different folders, rename the .dll extension to .bak (or similar), then restart 3ds Max and see if the issue has gone away. Thanks!
