glb export - adskMat prefix

Is there a way to export to GLB without the prefix being automatically added.

For example checking the glb in babylon I see the materials and textures have a prefix "adskMat". This does not apply to the geometry (which is what I need).

I would expect it to use exactly the name from the material/texture rather than add the prefix.

example:

Material name: Rug

Texture name: Rug_Diffuse.png

Babylon:

Material name: adskMatRug

Texture name: adskMatRug_Diffuse.png

Im using the latest 3dsmax 2024

Any feedback from the Autodesk devs would be great. We have spent a great deal of time building a pipeline (including maxscripts) around the new gltf/glb exporter and this is our only limitation. Our clients expect Material/Texture names to match their requirements.

Thanks!

Ok I worked out why this happens, but no way to fix it from my end. Is Autodesk able to resolve this in a future update?

From my tests there are 2 problems here:

1. If your material is prefixed with a number, example: (mine are 3DC_MaterialName) then your output will be

M_MaterialName

2. If your material has the same name as your object then you get the adskMat prefix. For example: Material name is Sofa and Object name is Sofa then the output will be adskMatSofa for the materials and textures.

Also why does each object get put into a separate node in the object output? For example: rootnode > node21 > Sofa, rootnode > node3 > Chair etc. They should all be under the root node. So output would be: rootnode > Sofa, Chair etc.

Here is the Autodesk GLB output:

Here is the expected output (I have to use Blender to export to GLB instead of directly from 3dsmax for this to work):
