Fixing a DWG/DXF Import: broken poly

Hi,

I am doing my homework, reading and trying, but I am a bit stuck in translating at the moment.

I'm trying to download a mechanical design as a step file, and I am getting very pleased with the result after 9 attempts, but...

before continuing with attempt no 10 I would like to find out which option is responsible for this problem: Import-P&G-Demulsifier-20170330-T9-result.JPG

These are the options I used. Can someone please put me in the right direction? I will do the rest of the work myself.

I am sure there are modifiers in Max to fix these things, but my goal is to import without using those at this point.

Thanks!

Judith

Wow Judith, you're fast!  Fixed before I could even get here.  What did you do to fix it, please?  In case someone else has the same problem.

Thanks and best regards!

Hi @Alfred.DeFlaminis,

Sorry, I am not the most patient person, I mostly keep busy, since the answer to my question could be found somewhere. Smiley Embarassed

Kept looking on Google, found a small article with different settings, although is was meant for 100% AutoCAD Import. Changed it a bit, since I don't use layers, it worked. I might need to use a TurboSmooth though to really get the cylinder shapes smoothly rounded.

Here are the settings, but be aware: if you do use original AutoCAD change the Derive AutoCAD Primitives by: Entity option to one of the two layer-choices, and select the layers in the second Tab!!! I skipped that one.
