Is there any way to export to dwg but getting the nested helper objects as nested blocks?
It currently just comes through flattened into one mesh group in the dwg.
For background, I'm trying to convert from nwd to Inventor.
I can manually split this into rough groups, at a higher level in the tree, and export those one at a time to dwg, explode the mesh to faces, export to stp, and import to Inventor while "stitching" into solids.
Inventor manages to convert a fair amount to solids but the remainder gets lumped into one (complex) surface body object which is not idea.
I was hoping to bring import them with a finer granularity (which the nested blocks would help with) to limit the amount of geometry getting lumped into each object (and possibly a higher yield of solid objects).
An alternative might be a batch export of the geometry elements, if there was a way to keep track of their parents (incorporating the parent names into the file names on export).
