Error in lighting and ambient occlusion

I used Manetal ray with 3Ds max design 2016 to make this render, i keep getting this weird black effect from every corner in the scene as attached although i increased the minimum distance in ambient occlusion. Please advice if this problem is from the render options or what can i do to iliminate this effect. Note that the scene has many lights.
