Drag and drop stopped to work in Layers Explorer window in 3ds Max 2018

I have drag and drop stopped working in Layers Explorer window in 3ds Max 2018. And I cannot rename layers by clicking on them. The only way to rename them in select layer properties and rename them. Does anybody know what happened and how to return this feature back?

You can fix it by going to SELECT, then uncheck SELECT CHILDREN.

When you selected your layers, it was selecting all the children too.

That was another problem, not selected children objects. It happens when I merge objects from old scenes created in older versions of 3ds max. It healed by itself after I opened and closed a few other max scenes and restarted 3ds max a couple of times. I don't know what exactly helped in my case.

I fixed this problem by deleting all settings, folder

c:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2018 - 64bit\
