I have a great one I use. It's called 'Copitor' and it's not drop and drag but it's kind of better. You have slots where you copy what you want and then you can paste it into another open instance of Max. I now can't live without it. Also, it works perfectly in Max 2022, 2023 and 2024 and has never caused any issues for me.
I'll attach where to get it.
Here's the header from the ReadMe. It's free but I'd suggest you give him a little donation like I did. It's so useful. I like paying it forward for generocity like this.

Description:
Copitor allow you to quick copy/paste selected objects to another Max scene or in another Max if you have 2 3dsMax open.
I also like to use it like as a "quick backup" for try something, and to be sure to loose nothing 🙂
-Slot 6 can also target an special folder (NAS for example) by clicking on the "+" next the Copy_6 button
-In Copitor options you can toggle merge material from Copitor
