Connect edges segments not showing

Hi I am trying to add connect edge segments. The panel shows up and it says that I added 4 segments, yet I am not seeing my segments eventhough "edged faces" is turned on. How do I fix this?

For connect to work you need at least two edges selected. I can't see what your selection is there.
