Backface edges disappear when selecting sub-object levels while in wireframe mode

Been running into an issue.

My backface edges disappear when selecting sub-object levels while in wireframe mode. See attached images. First image shows how it looks when just the object is selected. As soon as I select the vertices/ edge subobject mode the backface edges disappear. How can I fix this.

I've tried to update the nvidia studio drivers, that did not work.

Switching from nitrious D3D 11 to D3D9 fixes this issue but viewport performance slows down considerably.

My installation of 3ds Max 2022 does not have this issue.

Anyone have any insight?

Figured out my issue.

The color for back face edges was changed to a gray color (very similar to the background......)

So I just reset all my colors to fix the issue. Not sure which specific setting you have to change.
