I have an scene iluminated with HDRI and I am happy with the level of ilumation, but I would like to avoid the reflections of the HDRI map on a metal material.
Best regards
Solved! Go to Solution.
If I turn down glossines on the reflect tab I can avoid the reflexions, but the material doesnt bright as much. Is there any other solution that leaves the bright on the material without the hdri map reflected on it.
If you happen to be using V-Ray, you can set an override map for reflections and refractions. Open the Render Setup dialog, go to the V-Ray tab, and near the bottom is a rollout for Environment.
If you are using Mental Ray, I'm sure there is a similar process to get the same result. It has been a few years since I've used Mental Ray, though, so I'm not exactly sure how to do it.

and if you are using mental ray, under special purpose maps, you can overide the environment reflection there.
